Book Proceeds to the LBDA.

I forgot to add in today's post about my new book that I will be donating 30% of the proceeds from sale of the book to the LBDA. They are a great organization, doing great work, supporting the people who need it the most!

We do not require our applicants to have managerial experience. However, if you would like to gain some, this position may be a perfect fit for you. The most promising applicants are invited to pass the Onboarding course, which is an educational resource for our new mentors.

Create visuals aids and do not be afraid to use them. It is no secret that such aids help your audience to perceive information better. Even if you have exceptional public speaking skills,having visual aid will come in handy. The best option is to use a presentation tool, such as Prezi or PowerPoint Presentation. Preparing handouts might be useful as well.

LBD families and caregivers can connect directly on a regional basis, through the LBD Caregiver Link, featuring “Lewy Buddies.” “Lewy Buddies" are experienced LBD caregivers who share their time and experience with LBD families by:

v Listening compassionately and confidentially to the challenges of LBD families and sharing their own personal experience with LBD

v Offering emotional support

v Referring families to additional LBDA programs and services as appropriate for their needs.

While Lewy Buddies are not able to provide medical advice and are not medical professionals, they are typically well informed about LBD through their personal experiences and volunteer training with LBDA. They may also be able to help identify information and community resources concerning the diagnosis and care of a person with Lewy body Dementia.

When calling or emailing the LBD Caregiver Link, you will speak with an experienced caregiver who can provide information on LBD and who can also share their personal experience and compassion. Please leave a message and an LBDA volunteer will return your call within 24-48 hours.
